a little more cozy...

I absolutely LOVE our apartment...it feels so 'home-y' to me! We couldn't be blessed with a more perfect first home! We were also very blessed with generous wedding gifts that have helped us make our home a little more cozy and fun...for the wifey that is!
Lately we've added a few new things to make our home a little more cozy! :)

These green place-mats we got at one of our showers - I had been using the beautiful brown ones Mrs. Mrok gave us that went perfectly with our dishes. But now that it is spring I have added a little more color to our kitchen table and I am loving it!

My sweet husband also gave me this beautiful clock for Valentine's day...definitely a new favorite around here. Took a while to finally get it hung up but here it is :)
My grandmother also found these a few weeks ago at Michael's for $10.00....she is so sweet to think of us and they matched perfectly with the other green pillows we got at Bed Bath and Beyond with the wonderful wedding gift cards!
Just a few new things and our apartment is even cozier than before!!

Pretend its sunny...

Despite a gloomy 45 degree day in Memphis we pretended it was bright and sunny, cooked some burgers, baked beans, and brownies! Left the dishes in the sink, put on a movie and spent the rest of the night on the couch....I love pretending we're on vacation!
Plus I redeemed myself from my last batch of brownies!
These were MUCH better! Plus I put some icing on top which made them delicious!
YUMMY YUMMY!

SPRING BREAK 2011: Project Organization

Spring Break is here and a much needed break from work has arrived! :) We are not going anywhere this year (which is a little strange feeling since I've traveled to the beach almost every Spring Break with my family). But I am excited to be home for a few days! Now I can be a little wifey and get this house in order...first order of business...our closet...
Ok so our closet doesn't look this good but I gave it a shot and it does look much better...nothing a little trip to Walmart and some Rubbermaids couldn't help! :)

My classroom...

A little late...we are 89 days into school after all but here's a glimpse into our classroom and Mrs. Short's sharp bunch!

Our newest nephew!

We were so excited we got to be in Ohio when Caleb Michael came into the world. He is absolutely precious! I love being an aunt to eight (almost 9 come January 14th)!

Christmas Time - Over the hills and through the snow!

I LOVE Christmas and this Christmas was so wonderful!! We were very blessed to be able to spend time with my family and Steve's family over the holidays! We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Mississippi then fought the crowds at the airports to fly to Ohio where I got to experience a beautiful white Christmas!!

This was in Ohio before our 7 nieces and nephews went crazy...and the adults had a little fun too with our gift exchange. 18 people, 50 presents....prepare yourself!

Steve and his brothers got Ohio State shirts! :) They all put them on that night...wish we could have gotten a picture of them in their shirts.
Oh Danny!
We call this Christmas chaos!
Enjoying all the fun!

Christmas morning in Mississippi!

We loved our matching P.J's...thanks mom! :)
Cooking in the kitchen!
Enjoying the Christmas lights on the square...where we got engaged a year ago :)

Thanksgiving in Mississippi!

Now that we're married our traditions seem to be changing a little when it comes to the holidays but I'm learning to enjoy the differences and treasure the memories!
We normally spend Thanksgiving Day in Kosi with my dad's side of the family so since last year we were in Ohio, that was our plan. But a few changes of plans and mom still recovering from Gallbladder surgery we ended up at my grandparents for a couple of days. We had a DELICIOUS dinner and of course of fall family picture shoot! :)
